Meet our contributors

Claire Bagnall

Hi, I'm Claire, a mum of two, a boy and a girl born 15 months apart, and I work as an Education Advisor in the West Midlands. I really enjoy being able to use the valuable knowledge I have gained from working with so many different people who share my passion for education, as well as my own experience as a parent, to help and support others.

Why I like The Bear Can Read:

I have always been a strong advocate for the need to support children's learning at home, but since my daughter was diagnosed with a hearing impairment, this has become even more important for us as a family. My daughter's additional needs were a driving factor for wanting to explore what was out there to keep her motivated at home, and although I passionately believe that the most important things you can give to support your child's education are your own time and patience, experience has taught me that having some well-chosen resources at hand can greatly facilitate the process. It was for this reason that I was so pleased to discover The Bear Can Read!
